On 3.10. more than 60 people met at the Urban Activity Factory for a DEBATE on civic duties and youth approaches to democratic and civic issues
In the first part of the meeting, the Youth took part in a workshop during which they discussed the following topics:
- what institutions are known to the Youth that actively support their voice and have the opportunity to present their position on current socio-political, economic and environmental issues?
- what, in the opinion of the Youth, is a barrier that blocks them from taking action?
- what should change in order for the participation of the younger generation in the context of voting rights or their civic activity?
In the second part of the event during the debate with invited guests, the Youth discussed:
- about active participation in elections and memories and experiences related to it,
- about whether in Poland we can talk about conscious participation in political life and what is conscious voting / conscious participation in elections,
- Which tools: Youth Councils / Party Youth Councils / Social Movements / Art Collectives / Expert Panels / Civic Panels / 3rd Sector Activities / Volunteerism / Socio-Civic Protests are the most effective and which best amplify the voice of the younger generation,
- what changes must / should take place to positively / effectively influence youth participation in elections and civic initiatives.
